Brian's Straightforward Mortgage Advice -
Keep it simple!
The strength of your credit score is now more important than ever before. Your FICO score is the number one variable in securing competitive financing, so it needs to be continually monitored and improved. Take steps to review your credit prior to your anticipated loan so there is ample time to make any recommended improvements which could open the doors to more competitive loan options.
Identify clearly written goals and objectives for your new home loan. While your immediate goal when applying for a home loan may seem clear, it is important to look deeper and assess where you are today versus where you want to be in the future. This planning will help ensure your loan matches your goals.
Be sure to work with someone you trust. Determine 4 important qualities about the person you want to work with. For example: listens to me, asks good questions, returns phone calls or emails quickly. Your Mortgage Advisor should be someone who meets these qualities and is interested in helping you meet your goals and objectives.
